Few days back Google was rumored to be working for a deal with Whatsapp, and just now a new info says that Google is going to invest about 300 milliom euros, just to expand its already extra large network. Somehow the current number of data centers are not enough, and so it has reportedly decided to estabilish a new data center in Belgium.
Well actually if you look closely to their statement then you will notice that Google will not build, instead upgrade an already existing data center to meet the growing need in European continent. The simple need to upgrade a working data center can be a sign that Google is seeing an increased developement rate. Currently the data center is in St.Ghislain, just southwest of Brussels. These data centers are already at industrial levels due to heavy search requests and Youtube traffic.
Data centers are actually large areas taken under the company to maintain thousands and thousands of servers with high speed internet, running 24 by 7 just to provide an uniterrupted service to its web services. Accoding to Google, the present data center there has about 120 employees and the whole data center has been made green in a way. Its the most energy efficient facilities and surely one of its kind. Google Inc is currently running two more data center in europe only in Ireland and Finland.
Looks like someone is getting some market growth. Share what you think about this. And yeah wouldn't it be like a dream to visit someplace like this. Techies will call it their mecca.
