The current security world is quite full with all the cyber-attacks going on US and also the DDoS attack on Cloudflare. Something new is here for us to share. last week three members of the notorious hacking group Lulzsec surrendered and pleaded for guilty. The person in limelight is a British hacker by the named Ryan Ackroyd, who confessed about hack attacks on companies like Sony News, Britain's national health service and Rupert's News International. The confession actually comes following the confession of three other hackers of Lulzsec itself, and unfortunately all of them are British.
These hackers group have together said that they have committed many cyber-crimes including the DDOS (Distributive Denial of service) attacks on some very major sites and institutions like Sony, 20th Century fox, The NHS, Nintendo and even some state police sites etc. The attacks are of wide variety and all of them were aimed due to different purposes. Ryan Ackroyd, 26 years old stated that he is responsible for one count of Carrying out an unauthorized act to impair operations of multiple computers.
The other three hackers are allegedly under arrest include, Mustafa Al-Bassam (18 years), Jake Davis(20 years old) and Ryan cleary(21 yrs old). The majority of their cyber-crimes can be estimated by the fact that they tried to hack CIA, US Air force computers, Pentagon, and even Britain's Serious Organized crimes Agency. All of these attacks range from February to September of the year 2011. The group of which they are all members of is a very big name in the world of hacking. Although the name means Laugh out loud, it has little reference to what the group actually does. Lulzsec was in light light year with Anonymous, when they were all on the hacking frenzy with wikileaks releasing hacked data. The series of attacks came to an end after U.S. Official somehow managed to unmask the reputed leader Sabu (Lulzsec), and dozens of arrests were made.
Coming back to Ryan, its made clear that he will be hearing his sentence on 14th of may in Southwak Crown court, London. The fates of the hackers will be decided then only, when the only positive thing coming out of this plea is that all the other charges against Ryan Ackroyd might be dropped except the one he confessed to.
