The present world is changing very fast and it results in developement of technology. That has the power of changing the world. A very simple outcome of all that stuff is the clashes between different companies and this time its clash between the photo service Shutterfly and Eastman Kodak Co app. Now both these have been under common agreement until last friday shutterfly filed a petition at the court against Kodak Co app.
Kodak Co App is an app on the social network Facebook Inc. where it allows the users to purchase photo albums made from the pictures stored in the social media's network. Last year Shutterfly which provide photo services online, bought the Kodak Gallery (Online Photo Business) by paying about $23.8 millions and a contract was signed between the buyer and seller. What do you think was is the deal? Its' quite obvious that it barred Kodak Co. from never again starting a duplicate business of the same kind that is the basis of the business purchased by Shutterfly.
Now it looks like the code has been violated. Shutterfly makes statement in the court case the "My Kodak Moments App" violates the contact signed by them under the purchase of online gallery service last year. The service is supposed to be based on the same piece of tech and would be considered as a competition.
Now you must also be wondering what does this app actually does that two companies are fighting over it. It actually allows a user to choose from photos on facebook to ultimately create an awesome online album, which on order is then printed and sent to the consumer according to their demand. Thats actually a very awesome service regarding the high number of pics being uploaded on facebook servers every second.
Last year Kodak Co filed for Bankruptcy and now it made a clear statement that at the final package of about $850 millions , they are ready to exit the state of bankruptcy. When we asked for comments from its official spokespersons on this matter, there seemed to be no response at all and that was very unexpected. What the company says in general is that they are now planning to focus on commerical upfront of their business and will rebuild the infrastructure.
